Random thoughts of the chaotic past week

26 days. That's the amount of days remaining for us to finish our animated short film. Things were going surprisingly well, until I got "sick" last week.

My eye started to itch a bit, and I started to feel a bit of pressure around the eyelid. At first, I didn't want to believe, but eventually, I couldn't deny anymore; Chalazion is back. I've been fighting against Chalazion since I was 18-years old. And it always get back, not matter what. The good news is that it's almost disappearing. The bad news is that's still a bit hard to open the eyelid in its totality, making my vision blurry. Definitely not ideal to deal with Maya's Graph Editor right now.

Yesterday, out of nowhere, I started feeling a bit of pain on my right wrist, around a bone, which I checked on The Internet it's supposed to be called "Carpal". I don't use one of those super ergonomic mouses, but I'm thinking about getting one. Fortunately, the pain seems to be gone now.

I miss drawing, painting and sketching. All of these things I can still do, but not with the intensity I'd like. It takes me a lot of time to get in the flow of drawing. But still, I'm trying to sketch anything for at least 15 minutes, daily. I'm not managing to accomplish this daily, but from time to time, I manage to sketch a few things here or there. The other day, I managed to do this sketch study, based on Ko Byung Jun's work:

Blue Eye Samurai is finally available to watch on Netflix. All the episodes are there. I watched the first one and... well, it's beautiful visually speaking. Can't wait to watch the whole thing!

Also, I don't know what happened, but Netflix released the first episode for free, on YouTube:

As for our animated short film, we are almost there. The blocking animation phase is almost done, the texturing is done. I'm a bit too optimistic that everything will be okay, which is not always the case, let's be honest, it's never the case. Either way, I think we'll also be able to include some NPC characters walking around the street, jut to make the city a bit more lively.

Hopefully, things will get better by the next week!
