Resources I'm using to learn Japanese

Websites and Apps I try to use daily to learn Japanese

Currently navigating the turbulent waters of my final semester at university, it's kinda hard to properly focus for more than a hour practicing Japanese. What I try to do is daily explore one of the resources below, to at least learn something new.

Whenever I learn a new word, a new verb, or anything related the Japanese language, I write it down on Obsidian, it's a good thing that I can type in Japanese as well, now that I managed to properly setup a Japanese keyboard on macOS.

Websites

  • Tofugo: I keep exploring Tofugo's website and I can't reach its end, there's like A TON of resources and useful information there. Going through their guide to learn Japanese is a nice way to "lose" a bunch of hours of your day, in a good way, of course!
  • NHK Easy Japanese: It makes me think of the BBC Learning English page.
  • r/Japanese: There's always someone asking the same question you have in your head. So far, it seems like a friendly community.
  • Jisho: I tend to use Jisho more than Google Translate.

Apps

  • Japanese: Good dictionary style app overall.
  • Midori: Not much different than the above, but it has a option to display Pitch Accent.
  • WaniKani: I'm still getting into Kanji, so I'm not using this one daily — yet.

Cheers!
