Back in August 2023, I decided to start learning Japanese, on my own, just because, why not?

Well, actually I don't know how to explain, but since very young I was always fascinated in learning new languages. I remember when we had our English classes at school, it was always the high-light of the week for me.

This is not my first time trying to learn Japanese. When I was about 12 years old, I gave it a try, by buying books and magazines. I ended up just learning Hiragana and Katakana, which eventually I forgot, since I was not using. Back then, the internet was still very infant in terms of educational materials for learning Japanese.

Truth be told, learning something alone is not always easy, especially a new language, where practicing speaking and listening is essential.

Anyways, I started learning again this year, again, learning Hiragana and Katakana first. Right now, I can read them both, but sometimes I still confuse "な" (na) with "は" (ha), I don't know, they look very similar.

I've been diving into a bunch of free materials all over The Internet, and I'm so grateful that people put these—high quality—materials out there, for free.

My goal is to eventually be able to communicate in Japanese, I know it will take a LOT of time to do so, but it is what it is. For 2024, I wanna visit Japan, and use my time there to immerse myself even more in the Japanese language.
