Japanese lessons - week 03

Some notes from week 03.

いる

(to be; there is/are; to have) for living things

Example:

  • 猫がいます。(I have a cat/there's a cat)

ある

(to be; there is/are; to have) for non-living things

Example:

  • 自転車があります。(I have a bicycle/there's a bicycle)

I still not over the fact that for flowers (花) and plants in general, we use ある instead of いる. It is what it is, I guess.
