Last year I posted about my favorite musics of 2023, but it was more broad, not focusing only on 2023 releases.

This year, I'm doing that! Here are my favorite albums of 2024.

1 - Born Again - BRIDEAR

I discovered BRIDEAR earlier this year, and their latest album was my first contact with their music. Born Again is so damn good, a solid album. Definitely my favorite of 2024!

2 - Come see me - KOIAI

Okay, okay, technically this is an EP, not necessarily an album, but who cares, it has awesome music nonetheless! Come see me was released a couple of days ago, and it quickly became one of my favorites of 2024. It's nice to know that Wakazaemon is credited, even though she is not the permanent bass player of the band. I can't wait to KOIAI to launch a full album!

3 - Invincible Shield - Judas Priest

And to think that Judas Priest is 55 years old! Damn, what an incredible job they did on this album. The mixing is a work of art! You can clearly hear each instrument. I wish Iron Maiden would release an album with a good mixing like Judas Priest.

4 - EVOLVE - NEMOPHILA

NEMOPHILA's third album; EVOLVE! Nice album overall, with a strange cover artwork (笑). It was amazing to see them playing live the whole album (with exception of track number 6; ALIVE).

AMA-TE-RAS, Hammer Down and YELL, what a combo!

5 - The Mandrake Project - Bruce Dickinson

Finally, after years and years of rumors about Bruce's new solo album, it's finally here! Fantastic work!

Honourable mentions

In not particular order, these albums didn't make the cut of my favorites of 2024, but still great albums!

PLANET OF METAL - ASTERISM

ASTERISM now under Amuse's umbrella, partner up with Mangaka Acky Bright to create PLANET OF METAL. On top of that, they also sing now, not all songs, but a few. Interesting direction they are going!

PERPÉTUO - Black Pantera

Another band I just discovered this year; Black Pantera! Also discovered them through their latest album. Strong messages on their music, really cool stuff!

Drama - Marty Friedman

The legendary Marty Friedman released a new album this year and it's great! Awesome solos!
